More then 100 local men fell in World War One. From 2014-2018 Banstead Five Churches, Banstead District Royal British Legion, Banstead District Scouts and Banstead History Research Group honoured their memories.
A commemoration ceremony was held at All Saints, Banstead, on the 100th anniversary of the death of each local man, when the churchyard flag was raised to half-mast for the day, at noon a church bell was tolled one hundred times, and a short service of remembrance was held in the church.
On 10th November 2018 a special service was held to give thanks for the end of fighting in WW1, attended by the Lord Lieutenant’s Military Deputy, the Mayor of Reigate & Banstead, and representatives of the British Legion and other organisations.
