Lent starts on Ash Wednesday, which falls on 6th March this year. Traditionally it is a time when we fast, give and pray, as individuals and as a Church. Here in Banstead we share some of our prayers and reflections with our friends of the Banstead Five Churches.
The course chosen for the House Groups this year is called The Mystery of God, and comes from Churches Together in Britain & Ireland. CTBI say: ‘In 2019 our Lent course delves more deeply into the mystery of God, seeking to rediscover what it is that draws us so deeply in our search for God. We will follow Jesus through the Lenten readings, allowing him to draw us, in love and wonder, into the mystery of God’s plan of salvation.’
This year there are three house groups to choose from: on Monday evenings from 11th March at 7.30pm; Tuesday mornings at 10.30am from 12th March; and Thursday evenings at 7.30pm from 7th March. Sign-up sheets for the House Groups, with times and places, are available in church at the weekends, or ask in the Parish Office.
