All Saints’ Church will again hold a welcoming Open Day on Saturday 9th September from 10.00am to 4.00pm in connection with the National Heritage Open Day Scheme.

A full programme of events in the church includes a talk about the history of the church at 10.30am, followed by guided tours of the stained-glass windows and the memorials (see our leaflet Heritage Open Day Programme 2017).  There will be a historical display about All Saints as well as an exhibition of historic books. In the morning there will be a Children’s Craft Activity plus the chance for young people to participate in the Children’s Church Trail.

Shortly before 12.00 noon, the anniversary of the death of a Banstead man who died in the First World War will be commemorated with a short service and the tolling of the bell 100 times.  At 2.30pm there will be a guided tour of many points of interest in the churchyard.

Light refreshments will be provided outside the church.  These will be available also for the cyclists visiting churches in connection with ‘Ride & Stride’, organised by Surrey Churches Preservation Trust.  Refreshments will also be available at the Open Door Cafe adjacent to the Orchard in front of the church.

Stewards will be on duty throughout the day who are either members of the congregation or members of the Arts Society Chipstead.
