Children, youth and family work at All Saints’ Church
Big Teds
This is an after school club that takes place at Banstead Infant School on Thursdays from 3.30-4.15 pm during term time. There is a maximum of 40 places for children aged 4-7 years. The aim of the club is to expose the children to the Christian religion through songs, craft, music, drama and dance.
Teddy’s 10 Minutes
This takes place in Church on Wednesday afternoons at 2.00 pm. Mums with young children meet for story-telling, prayer and music followed by tea and chat.
Mums’ Group
The group holds coffee mornings for Mums from different parts of the Church and local community. These offer support and friendship and are also a way to promote other church groups and activities. The group organise outings (e.g. a pilgrimage to Chessington World of Adventures), social evenings, a Family Fun afternoon, and practise Hand Bells for performance at church services.
Biscuit Club
A new club launched in early November last year. It runs during term time on Fridays 1.30-2.30 pm in the Church Institute providing Mums with a chance to have tea and a chat whilst there is free play for pre-school children. This is offered to all Church groups and the local community.
Family Service
Takes place on the first Sunday of each month at 11.15 am.
Junior Church
Is for children from 3½-10 years and takes place during the 9.30 am Parish Eucharist (except 1st Sunday of month) in the Institute.
Youth Group
A new youth group has been formed for rising 11-14 year olds. This meets in the Institute on the 4th Sunday of each month from 5.30-7.30 pm. The sessions start with an ice-breaker game, followed by tea and a workshop when the young people can explore their faith through drama, dance, art, music etc.
Next meeting: Sunday, 25th July starting at 5:30pm. We have great things planned along with the usual outdoor games, food and music! We will also have important info on Big Swim, Big Eat now being planned for September. Please note that there will be NO August meeting.
Our Children and Families Workers, Emma Duke and Jen Sadler, are involved in all these activities either in a leadership or supporting role. They have both completed the Diocesan Certificate in Children’s Work and Ministry. They have links with Alison Hendy, Children’s Work Advisor for the Diocese and her team, enabling them to access invaluable resources at Guildford.

The Banstead 5 Youth group
The Banstead 5 Youth group is organised by Beverley Kent. There are 6 - 8 events run throughout the year, for young people in Year 8 and above, from all of the 5 churches. These events may include Bowling, Rounders, performances, Youth Services and Discos. The highlight of the B5Y calendar is the Venture Weekend in July. We aim to publish a twice yearly programme, and forms for any of the events are available from any of the 5 churches 3 weeks before the date.
There is a tremendous amount of interest and support within the parish for all of this work. We therefore look forward to an exciting future with our young people.
